Merry Christmas Friends!

Christmas is a great time of year to intentionally remember all those God has blessed you by bringing into your life, and left you changed forever. Unfortunately, time and space do not permit for us to visit, but you are still each on my heart. It's so amazing to look back over the years and see many dear faces; people who you can speak to again years later and just pick right back up as if you'd talked the day before. It's amazing especially when you share one Spirit and one Lord!

So, I wanted to take a moment to share warm wished for the holidays and the new year.

It's amazing how God uses relationships to reveal more of Himself to me. He sends me a sensitive, attentive father to show how He himself dotes over me. Or a servant hearted mother to show how He provides for me.  Or correcting, encouraging friends to show His loving discipline. And attentive, listening friends to show that my heart matters, and He knows me.  I am thankful for how God has revealed more of himself to me through you! God is so relational and intimate and knows just what I need.

And He came near!

He came into my world and knows my struggles; into relationships and knows my pain; into my sins and knows my shame. He is here, and it's primary during this season to remember and to worship.

I find that there are so many great relationships, and food, and music and movies and warm-fuzzies to enjoy this Christmas - that I look more to them than to the Giver of these good things. But these are all given to point us to the true Relationship, Feast, and enduring Peace and Joy!

So, this year may we go deeper in our experience of God Incarnate in our hearts; to know the extent of His love for you now, and to find your identity in Him alone. Let us worship! I pray that you too would be focused on the simple worship of Christ, as did the first observers long before they could understand the mysteries that God has revealed to us!

I hope to hear from you, and am praying for you!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Rebecca
