Time is of the essence

Last Monday through Wednesday I had the privilege of spending some valuable time with my new staff team. There were 4 new staff with us this year, which is a great increase and a blessing.

We started out early Monday morning packing into two vehicles, anticipating a lot of fun time together, even just on the road. We were tight in our car with 3 girls squished in the back of the rental car, rocking to some great tunes provided by Jess. Of the 5 of us in the car, Brad, Elisabeth and I are all at the Université de Montréal, while Jess and Emily are splitting their time between McGill and Concordia. This way all of us know each other pretty well, and all of us will be working with another at some point. The tunes were a great mix, many of the others loved and knew the songs - but I was clueless to most. I feel compelled to research and find the bands again.

Once we got to the house in the backwoods of Renfrue, put the tents up and grabbed our groceries for our trip, we headed into town to Jess' mom's above ground pool to break the heat. Unfortunately I didn't bring my bathing suit because I was doubtful that we would actually drive into town, so I ended up jumping in in my clothes. But all in all, it was a great time in the pool with my team!

Some of the planning/prayer aspects to our time together included talking all together about things we're anticipating for this coming year, as well as fears/obstacles that we're trusting God for as we walk by faith.

And then there was also the taking our previous plans and dreams for Frosh Week and making it practical, scheduling in the date/time/location and praying through the arrangements. I am really looking forward to seeing the students again and watching God move mightily in their lives.

Some of the fun things we did was watch 17 Again and play Bonanza, go swimming in the pool that one time and play Eucre. My team mates also climbed a small waterfall, jumped from a small bridge, and swam in the river. I chose to sleep that afternoon, since sleep was a limited resources that 'weekend'.

I am really excited to see what God will do with the plans we have, how He'll call students to Himself, and what change will occur in Montreal this year!

As I trust God to provide miraculously for my ministry needs, I pray that I will be able to be on campus very soon so that I can be part of all that we have planned. God is so good and just on time. Lord help me to trust and obey!

In Christ,

Rebecca
